(Part-2) 49ers' Thomas breaks on his performance against the Packers

Confidence, Thomas revealed, was the main reason he was not performing up to his ability.

"Essentially, it's just being aware of who I am," Thomas stated. All it takes is faith in myself, my abilities, and my trainers. That was my only takeaway.

In the early third quarter, with the Packers trailing the 49ers 7-6, Thomas was called for 41 yards in defensive pass interference on a third-and-15 scenario.

Bo Melton was the beneficiary of a touchdown pass from Packers quarterback Jordan Love on the next play.

To be honest, if I can just maintain my current level of performance and remain at the top, I will choose that," Thomas stated. It surprised me since, when you see me on film, I'm generally in the thick of things. However, it's sort of like that "get in the groove" thing. And once again, just getting a feel for things.

Trent Williams may have been the most influential of the San Francisco veterans that Thomas sought advice from during the divisional-round victory, along with Dre Greenlaw, Fred Warner, Tashaun Gipson, and Charvarius Ward.

The All-Pro left tackle bolstered his younger counterpart's self-esteem by assuring Thomas that the 49ers will proceed to the next round thanks to his performance.

Thomas will have a whole week of practice to get himself and the Lions ready for Sunday's game in Santa Clara, where victory or elimination will determine the team's fate. The 24-year-old made a solemn promise to train with Brandon Aiyuk.
